How to avoid Flock license plate cameras when driving, tool by tool
Use a route planner that counts mapped cameras. Enter your trip, compare the fastest road with a lower-camera alternative, then drive the one you choose. DeFlock Maps and the FlockDetour web planner are free. Phone navigation comes from FlockHopper, Peripheri or FlockDetour Pro. No route avoids every camera.
The method is the same in every tool
A planner takes your start and end points, finds a normal fast route, then searches for alternatives and counts the mapped cameras on each one. You trade minutes for fewer cameras. If the alternative adds a long detour or no alternative exists, the tool should say so.
Two limits apply to all of them. They only know about cameras volunteers have reported, and they cannot see mobile readers on patrol cars. Treat the count as a comparison between two roads on one map. No map lists every camera, and none of these tools can promise a route that avoids all of them. Mobile and unmapped readers never show up on any of them.
Route tools compared on price and features
OpenRoad Labs, a small company, says it makes FlockHopper, DontGetFlocked.com and the current DeFlock Maps website. So the free route check on DeFlock Maps and the one on dontgetflocked.com come from one maker. Peripheri is an iPhone app that hands its route to Apple Maps, Google Maps or Waze.

Best for and not for
For a one-off trip, a free web planner is enough. For daily driving, a phone app with voice directions matters more than the map. FlockHopper is the free choice on its own page. FlockDetour fits someone who wants camera counts, turn-by-turn and dated city pages in one app, and it costs money for navigation.
FlockDetour is not the pick if you only want a free look-up or a free app, since the tools above do that. FlockDetour's map and web planner are free. As of October 3, 2026, the US App Store listed Pro at $4.99 a month, $39.99 a year or $49.99 once; prices differ by country and store and were not rechecked on October 24.
